2021 Pinot Noir

$38

Our 2021 Pinot Noir is a 50:50 blend of Pommard and 777 clones. The wine spent 21 months in neutral French oak barrels. Six barrels were combined to blend this outstanding wine. The Summer of 2021 included the “heat dome” with record high temperatures for the region. This led to early ripening and a high Brix level of nearly 25 at harvest, resulting in a relatively high alcohol content at 14.3% that is well balanced by the depth of flavors and round acidity. This youthful Pinot Noir would benefit from 45 minutes of decanting prior to serving to open up the complex flavors. This wine would be an excellent compliment to charcuterie and blackened salmon Caesar salad.

“A salty maritime breeze aroma wraps itself around notes of blueberry fruit leather and pine needles. The wine feels round in the mouth, with plush tannins backing dark chocolate and pomegranate cocktail flavors. I would have loved just a touch more acidity to liven things up.” — Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
